AFL Home > Fostering with AFL
Animal Friends of Lansdowne is not a shelter and we do not have a facility in which to house animals. We are an all-foster organization so the more potential foster homes we have, the more animals we can save in the Lansdowne community.
Foster families care for rescued animals, most often cats and dogs, on a temporary basis until a permanent home can be found. It is also the perfect solution for those who love animals but who cannot afford, or do not want, to have a pet on a permanent basis. AFL pays for all veterinary expenses and can also help with the cost of food, bedding, and other necessary items such as medications, cat litter, etc. AFL volunteers can also often assist with scheduling veterinary appointments and taking your foster pet to the vet.
If you are interested in helping us in this most important way, please fill out our foster application and a volunteer will be in touch with you. If you have any questions about fostering, please contact us.
